The Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates is a pivotal government body driving the country’s vision for sustainable economic development and diversification. With its leadership in shaping trade, industry, investment, and innovation policies, the Ministry is central to advancing the UAE’s global competitiveness.

 

My consulting engagement with the Ministry was focused on developing a national strategy for the UAE cooperatives sector, in the context of new laws enabling expatriates to establish and participate in cooperatives. The work involved policy analysis, stakeholder consultations, and creating a roadmap that aligned with the country’s economic diversification goals, while ensuring inclusivity and sustainable governance models for this emerging sector.
